The French company specializing in the decoration of glass and aluminum bottles for the beauty industry is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Founded in 1972 by Gérard and Marie-Anne Béranger, PRAD was initially focusing on the decoration of caps of perfume bottles and cosmetic jars. However, stimulated by one of its customers, PRAD soon developed metallization varnishes for glass and thus progressively became a renowned specialist in this field.

Aware of the creative and industrial advantages of varnishing glass bottles, Gérard Béranger invented glass lacquering in the 1980s. This technology was put into practice with the launch of Rose Cardin, the first line of lacquered bottles for a selective fragrance.

In 1998, Nina Ricci entrusted PRAD with the complete decoration of the Deci Delà perfume consisting of a multi-color lacquering and a relief serigraphy, another innovation made by PRAD.

By successively integrating different printing techniques, PRAD offered a wide range of organic finishing processes. Eager to develop its know-how, PRAD innovated once again in 2009 with the development of a liquid metallization process allowing metallized coatings with any kind of shades, transparency, shiny or satin appearance, and in countless colors.

Now specializing in the decoration of recyclable glass and aluminum containers, PRAD remains - 50 years after its creation - a French and independent company, supplying prestigious brands such as Chanel, Coach, Diptyque, Lalique, Parfums de Marly and many more…

Since 2016, PRAD is managed by Bruno Pierrain, its current owner. The company continues to invest in the development of new technologies for metallization as well as strengthening its R&D, all of that “in full compliance with its Quality and CSR strategy.”

Today, PRAD relies on liquid metallization, lacquering, laser finishing, silk screening, pad printing and hot stamping — used individually or combined — to provide its customers with a wide range of renderings, shades, color and/or material effects, and extreme precision of patterns.

The company participates in the Industry of the future 2.0 program of France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and is an active member of the UN Global Compact Program.
