I tried the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream for a month and it drastically reduced my wrinkles - Emily Sleight - Liverpool Echo

It was expensive but worth it

Since turning the ripe old age of 27, I've noticed a fair few fine lines appearing on my face - particularly on my forehead.

It's something I get quite self conscious about, and although very minor, I really try my best to conceal them as much as possible. I've had my eye on the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream for a quite a while now, but couldn't get past the hefty fee of a whopping £89.

On Amazon Prime Day, I managed to get a smaller tub for £55, and I can honestly say it's the best thing I've ever done. Priced at £89 on the ELEMIS website, it's important to note that the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream differs in price across a number of websites.

The cream will set you back £89 for a 50ml jar, £155 for a 100ml jar, £35 for a 15ml jar and £60 for a 30ml jar on the ELEMIS website. John Lewis shoppers will be thrilled to know that it's a whopping £2 cheaper on its website, but I'd always advise looking out for sales on websites like Amazon and LOOKFANTASTIC for a better deal.

I was over the moon that I managed to get the rather luxurious cream for a bit cheaper, and although I only got the 30ml jar, it's already lasted me well over a month. Described as an 'anti-wrinkle moisturiser that is clinically proven to improve hydration' I wanted to see what all the fuss was about - and I'm so glad I did.

The 'award-winning' anti-ageing cream is described on the product description as a 'super moisturising yet ultra-light gel cream'. It's said to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles in two weeks and helps improve the look of firmness and elasticity for the skin.

I'll be honest, even after reading numerous five star reviews on the cream, there was always a part of my dubious side that wasn't sure if this stuff would actually minimise my wrinkles. I'm a big fan of the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen cleansing balm so I hoped this product wouldn't let me down.

First impressions? The product looked very luxurious and glamourous in its packaging as ELEMIS products usually do, and I was incredibly excited to try it.

The Marine Cream was incredibly thick in the jar and a little did really go a long way when applying it to my face. I applied it every morning after cleanser for a month before makeup and the results were pretty staggering.

As a whole, I was seriously impressed with this cream. It felt amazing, it smelt amazing and it made my skin feel generally firmer and look more hydrated. It was almost as if my once dull, relatively pale face had been brightened up with this little jar of magic, that not only made my face look radiant but feel soft too. It wasn't until I looked in the mirror and paid real attention to my fine lines on my forehead that I noticed the drastic results.

My fine lines had reduced massively. Had they disappeared completely? No - but they were less noticeable and my skin generally appeared more youthful and smooth.

I'd say that it took around three weeks for me to notice the changes, that may seem like subtle changes to some, but absolutely huge changes for me. I've spent a good couple of years feeling self conscious about my fine lines but this cream is seriously helping combat them.

The changes are more noticeable when I'm wearing foundation, which would usually sink into my fine lines. Although the lines are still there, they've definitely faded in appearance.

For those wondering if this cream is seriously worth the money, I'd have to say yes. Although, I still would advise to keep your eye out for any sales or reductions in the cream which tends to happen quite often.

Not only has it reduced my fine lines, but it's made my skin generally smoother, clearer and hydrated. It's hard to notice that it's doing anything when you apply it for the first few times, but this ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream is definitely a slow burner.

In future I'll definitely purchase a smaller tub for £35 which is bound to last quite a while, considering you don't need much of it at all. I was really surprised by just how well this cream worked, considering general skincare can take a good few months to show signs of any visual improvements. You can purchase the ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream here in various different sizes.
