The hottest thing since charcuterie boards, Butter Boards are the new viral TikTok trend spreading across the internet. In this recipe, softened butter is whipped together with sweet honey and warming cinnamon to make a fun and delicious cinnamon honey butter board. The perfect party appetizer or sweet snack.

As popular as charcuterie boards, but definitely not the same thing, butter boards are an easy, fast, impressive way to turn butter into your very own culinary masterpiece in less than ten minutes. They are the perfect party snack or holiday appetizer and are meant to be shared.

This sweet and delicious honey cinnamon butter board is just one of the countless ways to make and enjoy a butter board.

A butter board is literally a board or small serving tray covered with softened butter. Served with chunks of bread, the exciting part about butter boards is their countless toppings and flavor combinations, including everything from edible flowers to fresh herbs and salty meats.

Start by transferring the room temperature butter to the bowl of a mixer. Add two tablespoons of honey and ¾ teaspoon of cinnamon. Combine until smooth.

Spread the butter onto a clean serving board. In the case of butter boards, you don’t want the surface of the butter to be perfectly smooth. Some texture is ideal.

Once the butter has been spread, drizzle with the remaining honey and sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon. Break the honeycomb into bite-size chunks and top the butter with the honeycomb.

Serve with warm bread, rolls, or crackers.

No, the butter should not ruin your cutting board. When you’re done with the butter board, you will want to scrape off any excess butter. Rinse it under very hot water to melt off any extra butter left behind and wash it as normal. If you make a lot of these, you might want to invest in some mineral oil to coat your boards after you’re done washing them to help prolong the life of your cutting board.

I do not recommend making them ahead of time, especially if the recipe calls for processing the butter with other ingredients (like in this recipe). However, if you must, keep your board refrigerator until approximately 1 hour before serving, then remove it from the refrigerator and allow the butter to come to room temperature before serving.

Edible flowers, chopped nuts, jam, preserves, dried fruit, fresh or roasted garlic, fresh herbs (basil, rosemary, thyme), chives, sliced onion, goat cheese, chili oil, micro greens, lemon or orange zest, and meat.

Yes, this recipe would taste fantastic with spreadable cream cheese instead of butter.
