A beauty buff has put actress Margot Robbie's dry lip trick to the test by purchasing the $10 nappy rash cream from the pharmacy.

Ali Gray decided to test the theory that Bepanthen nappy ointment would work just as well - if not better - than the average lip balm in her latest TikTok video.

'Okay so apparently Margot Robbie swears by this cracked nipple and nappy rash ointment for her lips. It's called Bepanthen and she said it works way better than lip balm,' Ms Gray said.

'And it makes sense right? Your nipples are literally the same skin as your lips. A little goes a very long way. Apply as a cream and sheer it out. It actually feels so good on the lips and I'm definitely going to keep using it.

Her followers were equally intrigued by the white lip treatment.

'I use it on healing tattoos. It does have a strong smell but it makes sense that it would work for the lips,' one woman commented below the video.

'It's the best. I depot it into a little jar. It was a tip given to me by a cosmetic tattoo artist,' said another.

The 31-year-old Hollywood actress keeps an array of goodies in her Chanel backpack for when she is on the go, including hand sanitizer, face sprits, and her beloved Bepanthen nappy ointment.

'This is Bepanthan, it's an antiseptic cream technically for baby's nappies and stuff but I use it as a lip balm and it's really good,' she told British Vogue in 2021.

A small tube costs around $6 from Woolworths.

Robbie's lips are some of the most famous in Hollywood as she has played the pinup in a number of movies including The Wolf Of Wall Street.

The Suicide Squad star likes to make a fashion statement by taking her luxury handbag everywhere as she is always 'on the run'.

She told the magazine: 'My bag is a Chanel backpack so I think that would say I'm interested in fashion.

'But I'm also quite pragmatic. I'm on the run. I've got lots going on.'

For baby bottoms: The cream is supposed to be used for baby bottoms but also doubles as an excellent lip ointment

Meanwhile, the blonde beauty previously revealed she feels at her most 'attractive' when she is living in the 'moment' and 'being free' because women are 'strong' and 'feminine' when they are 'genuinely having fun'.

She said: 'Women are strong, and distinctly feminine characteristics are also distinctly strong characteristics.

'Being feminine isn't a sign of weakness any more. Something I've been talking about with my girlfriends lately is that we all look our best when we're smiling and having fun - when I catch people in that moment when they're genuinely laughing, that's when they're glowing and look gorgeous.

'I think having fun and being free is the most attractive thing... doing whatever makes you feel your best so that you show your best qualities to the world.'
